Die Autorin

Beatrix Potter wurde 1866 in London als Tochter eines wohlhabenden Anwalts geboren. Schon früh zeichnete sich ihr Talent fürs Zeichnen und ihre Vorliebe für die Landschaft des Lake District ab. Ihre Karriere als Kinderbuchillustratorin begann Potter 1902 mit der Geschichte von Peter Rabbit, die sich sofort zum weltweiten Bestseller entwickelte. Mithilfe ihrer Einnahmen kaufte sich Potter mehrere Farmen. Nach ihrem Tod 1943 hinterließ sie dem National Trust 1.600 Hektar Land.
